The Preston County Fire Association is seeking a renewal on our Fire Levy to fund each of the 12 Volunteer Fire Departments, to meet the needs of our communities when emergencies or disaster strike. Fire Departments are facing ever rising cost to pay for their equipment, utilities, fuel, insurance, required annual testing, truck maintenance, and for station and ground maintenance, And saving for Apparatus replacement. A new Fire Engine today cost an average of $500 to $600 thousand dollars, to equip an individual Firefighter cost about $10,000.00. The requested Levy is estimated to give each department $40,000 dollars and provide $30,000 dollars annually for the county Fire Association to support their jointly shared services.
We appreciate your support and ask that you Vote Yes for the Levy on May 10th to “Help Us Help You”
