Kingwood VFD is happy to announce that we have been awarded a couple of grants over the past several weeks, including the SAFER grant and a stimulus grant. The SAFER grant was awarded to help compensate firefighters for their time volunteered.

Today, KVFD firefighters went to the Manown area and flow tested several hydrants, testing their capabilities of pressure and flow available in the case of a fire. Visited areas included Dinkenberger Road and Walmart.

For the past month, four KVFD firefighters, Ethan Rouzee, Scott Bexfield, Marty Borror and Corey Gowen have been taking classes to become certified in Open Water Diving, and help with the Preston County Dive Team.
