| We had quite the day today!
Started out setting up for our Big Bucks Bingo today then at 3pm, we were paged to a fire at the Mon Power Substation which had knocked out for the general Kingwood area. Engine 56’s crew found some smoke but no active fire and remained on scene until Mon Power arrived. Upon leaving that scene, we were paged out to a fire alarm at New Horizon. We were cancelled while en route.
We had just arrived back in station when paged for a fire alarm at Truist bank. No fire or smoke was found on arrival and we cleared the scene shortly after and were back in station about 4:30.
At 5pm, we were paged for a fire alarm at the Preston County Sheriff’s Office. It was found that their generator was having a few problems and tripped the alarm.
At 5:30, we were paged for a residential fire alarm. The power trip appeared to have caused this alarm as well.
Just as we were finishing up from our bingo, we were paged to assist with a structure fire in Masontown. Attack 5 and Tanker 5 responded with 9 personnel. Assisted with extinguishment and overhaul, we were back in station just a little after 11pm.
Thank you everyone who came out to our Big Bucks Bingo and supported us, especially with the chaotic day we had outside of the bingo. Six calls completed over the course of 8 hours is a very busy day for us. |
