On October 7th and 8th, KVFD firefighters B. Goss, M. Hibbs, and J. Freeze attended search and rescue training using aerial drones. Along with various law enforcement and emergency management personnel from around the state, the participants practiced search and rescue techniques using advanced technology. Developing search grids, mapping, using thermal cameras, and working with ground search crews from the air are some of the topics covered. A big thank you to Public Safety UAS and Preston County OEM for making this training happen. These types of training help ensure the first responders in Preston County are ready when they are called on.
